Happy weekend everyone!
It's Saturday - YAY! We were ready for the weekend this week. We're back again with our latest blog post talking about another fashion conundrum - what to wear to work? You always ask us, especially on snapchat to find you some workwear pieces. So we decided to collaborate with DV8 to help you find a workwear staple - a BLAZER. If you don't have one, you need one and ASAP! You can buy SarahJanes here and Kate's here.
Luckily ladies this staple blazer won't just be a god send for work but also will take you anywhere at the weekend, if styled properly. We love these navy and black blazers from DV8 for a number of reasons. Firstly, the quality is amazing and it is worth spending a few extra pounds on a blazer that will stand the test of time and will not wash out after the first wear. The blazer is actually cropped and not too long so it won't drown us smaller ladies and will also look very chic on our taller gals. The length of this blazer is ideal for transitioning from work to night. We were immediately drawn to the blazers because of the gold detail on the buttons. The buttons look so expensive and it is a ringer for the Balmain Blazer which we adore but with a zero added to the price tag (which we don't adore).
We hope you love the way we styled the blazers as much as we do!
SarahJane styled her black blazer with her new Topshop Humbug dress. Don't be afraid of stripes this season - they, like Blazin Squad are making a comeback! Sometimes we are afraid of prints as we more likely to get sick of them or put them to the back of our wardrobe when we're not feeling the best. We think the best way to incorporate prints is to stick with monochrome. Don't get too crazy to start off with.
Kate styled her navy blazer with a baby pink faux leather skirt and a Topshop slogan tee. We love mixing up masculine and feminine styles. This blazer which some of you may stay away from because it's too 'worky' is perfect teamed with a more casual ensemble. You don't need to be heading to an interview to dress smart in a blazer. It could be worn with a slogan tee and jeans or even a pair of cigarette trousers and a blouse. Don't be afraid to mix things up to make sure you get the best out of your wardrobe.
Ladies, don't forget to shop your own wardrobe! Yes you heard us right. How do you do it?
- Review your wardrobe - look at what you have and see what is missing or what you already have there.
- Maybe you need a few staples - like this black blazer for example.
- Start putting together NEW outfits using clothes you already have in your wardrobe.
It's very easy to get in a rut with things just to match other things. Everything and anything in your wardrobe can be changed up to make an old outfit a new outfit. Yes, it takes a bit more time but it also saves you a bit more money. Who can complain about that? Let us know in the comments section if there is anything you'd like us to blog about. Keep an eye out for Monday's blog all about skincare (we know you'll love this one).
P.S how fab is this sign we got from GMG Logos? When one picture just isn't enough!
